The Western Tobacco Prevention Project is dedicated to provide
up-to-date and culturally appropriate tobacco education and information
to people working in tribal communities. We welcome you to use
the resources to develop local programs and strengthen communication
lines between tribes, state and local governments, national organizations,
and The Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board (NPAIHB).
WTPP Priorities include:
- Promote respect for the sacred use of tobacco
- Promote cessation services
- Counter tobacco company advertising on tribal lands
- Reduce exposure to second hand smoke
- Prevent Youth initiation
